There was a correction to the minutes. The motion to set up a table at the Ladies Frag Swap on June 11th in Sturgis Michigan was omitted. The following should have been recorded: John made a motion to set up a table at the Ladies Frag Club Swap, Travis seconded and the motion passed.
John made a motion to approve minutes as corrected, Mary seconded and the motion was carried.
The Treasurer’s Report was approved as read.
No changes. The domain is coming up for renewal, Mary will look into changing web hosts.
Facebook has 955 likes, an increase of 33 over last month.
John made a motion to expand our social media presence to Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and Google+. Ken Seconded the motion and the motion passed.
New magazines were distributed.
Chad and Derrick stepped down as co-chairs of the Awards Program. John appointed Noah as co-chair. Richard made a motion to accept Noah as co-chair of the Awards Program, Travis seconded and the motion carried.
We still need one more co-chair. If anyone is interested, please let John know.
Noah invited the club to join him
on a road trip to a few breeders’ houses. There were not enough people to make
it an official field trip, but they had a lot of fun.
GCCA Swap Meet is on 5/21/17.
Ladies Frag Club Swap is coming up on the 11th of June.
We have rescued over 100 animals so far this year.
John made a motion to hold the next swap on 2/11/18. Mindy seconded the motion and the motion carried.
Richard made a motion to hold the Fall Auction on 10/29/17 and set up the room on the day of. Noah seconded the motion and the motion passed.
John made a motion to hold the Spring Auction on 3/11/18, Travis seconded and the motion carried.
John made a motion to hold the next surrender events on 10/28/17 and 3/10/18. Ken seconded and the motion carried.

Next month’s group buy will be through Drs Foster and Smith with a focus on only frozen food, an email will be sent to members with the details as the time grows closer.
We discussed some options for the Summer Picnic:
· Wisconsin Dells Ducks
· DeYoung Family Zoo
Details will be discussed at the next meeting and a vote will be held.
We discussed holding a parade of tanks to show off our fish-rooms to club members. Participant Hosts would be eligible to enter one tank for consideration for Best Freshwater Tank or Best Saltwater Tank. Participant Guests would be allowed to vote for their favorite Freshwater or Saltwater Tank. Winners would receive a plaque for Best Freshwater Tank or Best Saltwater Tank. The person who gets the second most amount of votes overall would win a People’s Choice Award.
Rosa made a motion to hold a Parade of Tanks on 9/17/17. Richard seconded the motion and it passed.
John was contacted by the Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant to bring our surrender network to clubs in that region.
Seafood Watch has partnered with
us to raise awareness of the concept of “sustainable seafood”. We will be
receiving handouts shortly.
