BAP

The GBAS Breeder Award Program (BAP) encompasses both freshwater and saltwater fish, invertebrates, corals (CAP) and plants (HAP).

The BAP is designed to:

  • Encourage GBAS members to breed/propagate aquatic life forms, and to share the knowledge needed to do so.
  • Recognize members’ achievements in breeding/propagating aquatic life forms.
  • Promote interest in, and make available, a wide variety of fish and other aquatic life forms.
  • Make more members active participants in the society.

Program Overview

The Breeder Award Program is open to members of the Green Bay Aquarium Society. Points are earned for breeding fish, aquatic invertebrates, and aquatic plants.  To receive points, participants register the fry, invertebrates, or plants they have bred/propagated by bringing them to a monthly GBAS meeting, along with the required paperwork.  The life forms are auctioned off at the meeting.  As a participant accumulates points, s/he gains recognition as Junior Breeder, Senior Breeder, Advanced Breeder, Expert Breeder, Master Breeder, Grand Master Breeder (1, 2, 3, or 4), and Ultimate Breeder.  In addition, participants are entered into a prize drawing each quarter.
