7. Old Business: A. Dues are well past due.
B. Members who went on the field trip to Exotic Cichlids shared on their experiences.
8. Sub Committees: Auction: Manufactures letters have been composed and are in the mailing stage. Hopefully to be mailed before postal increases.
Web Site: A.A few members were having problems e-mailing the Liberian. Ron will check into this to see what is wrong.
B. Audrey found trouble getting the correct meeting location for January. Ron will also check into this.
C. Library: A. We received our new book “ Breeding Corydorandine Catfish” by Iam Miller.
B. Keith made a motion to purchase a book that Scott brought “Malawi Cichlids in the Natural Habitat” 3rd edition by Ad Konings for $40. Tony seconded. Passed
C. We also received our book from Terry Fairfield “A Commonsense Guide To Fish Health”.
D. Field Trip. Keith suggested a field trip to gather driftwood and go to pet shops in Marinett tentatively in April depending on the amount of snow and how soon it melts. Watch for more information on this.
E. B.A.P.: A. Formed a new committee with Tony and Scott another person it still needed.
B. The total spawns for the year are 14. Tad S. 1- Class A, 2 Class B, Scott & Carrie 1 Class A, 3 Class B, Jeff F 1 class A. 1 Class C, 1 Class D, Tony J 1 Class A, 3 Class B, 2 Class C.
C. Tad won prize for last quarter. Scott and Tad both won yearly prizes.
9. New Business: A. Chicago Cichlids is not having an auction this January
B. Discussed how long to keep folks on the roster when they have not paid their dues. It was decided to months was long enough.
C. Keith sent pictures via e-mail of the new tanks at the N.E.W. Zoo. They look very nice good job Dan D.
D. Dan D has several tanks and other equipment for sale. If you have any question or are interested give him a call.
10. B.A.P. Tony, Scott and Tad all brought fish.
11. Open Forum: A. Keith inquired about the raising, feeding and breeding of Longfin Coreys. Suggestions were that Tubaflex Worms were best for feeding. To hasten breeding try changing the water temperature or drop the water level a ways and then rise it back up again.
B. Chris remarked on the rating of drinking water in WI. We are rated second worst with CA being the worst.
C. Discussed how copper affects different fish.
D. Discussed using a humidistat to help eliminate moisture in fish rooms/ basements. Make sure the volts on the humidistat matches the volts in your room.
