GREEN BAY AQUARIUM SOCIETY
November 10th 2010
1. Old Buiness:
1. Auction, Scott made a motion to donate funds to 1000 Islands, motion was
seconded by Josh, motion was passed. The group decided that "See Website for
Auction Rules" should be on auction flyer, to better explain hard good
maximums. Motion made by Josh to compensate the Auctioneers as usual, motion
was seconded by Mary, motion was passed. The group decided that more
recognition should go to those that donate auction items to the GBAS, with more
announcements.
2. Sub Committies:
1. Auctions Audrey, Jeff and John have a list of possible sponsers. They
will cross reference and consolidate.
2. Website is up and running. Ron will check into a forum. Scott will
update the library list for the website.
3. Library: Scott had new Corals Magazine for check out.
4. B.A.P. Handed out Plaques at auction. Jeff is working on updating
species list.
5. Jeff is planning to stop at Dubuque Aquarium to gather information.
3. New business:
1) Took some ideas of places to donate funds.
a) No kill animal shelters. John will come up with a list of local
no kill shelters.
b) N.E.W. Zoo. Contact the Zoo and find out how to earmark our
donation to go towards the remodeling of the fish section.
c) Buy fish food for 1000 Islands
2) Josh made a motion to buy Quicken for the Treasurer Laptop, Lynn
seconded, motion passed.
3) An audit will be conducted by Jeff, Tad and Rosa date to be determined.
4) Josh made a motion that the president, vice president and treasurer
should be allowed to write checks in the clubs name, Tad seconded, motion
passed.
5) Spring auction is tentavly set on 3/20/11. Ron and Sharon will contact
1,000 Islands.
6) Discussed bringing auction items up on a cart, similar to the way they
do in Milwaukee.
4) Open Forum: Discussed LED lights. It may be cheaper to buy a set up than
just the lights. XMas exchange has a $5 limit and must be fish related.
5) B.A.P.: No one brought fish
6) Raffle: Won by Austin
