7.  Old Business: 1. Auction: We discussed complaints and how to resolve them. Complaint 1. Directions off of the highway, Ron will add which way to turn on the web site. Complaint 2. Miss identification of fish in bag, we will talk to auctioneers. Complaint 3. Bags on the wrong tables, discussed possible alternatives without a definite solution. 2. Tod shared on the addition of new fish at the N.E.W. Zoo. 3. Explained the Christmas gift Exchange to members who were not at the last meeting.4. Pet Expo: Sharon reported that this year to participate in the Pet Expo we need to have insurance. We do not have insurance. After discussion Keith made a motion to not participate in the 2008 Pet Expo. Ron seconded. Passed

 

8.  Sub Committees: AUCTION: 1.The tentative date for the spring auction is February 24th 2008. Sharon will contact 1000 Island Nature Center for availability.2. Sharon made a motion to pay the auctioneers the same amount as last time Tad seconded. Passed.  3. Tony made a motion to pay 1000 Island $150. Tammy seconded. Passed. Sharon will send the checks to all of them. 4. Bidding paddles: Many of the paddles are being broken. Sharon will check into the cost and types available to replace them. 5. We discussed how to solve the problem of illegible hand writing on runner slips. It was tabled until the next meeting with members being asked to think of possible solutions.

                                LIBRARY: Scott inquired if we wanted to reorder the Fresh Water and Marine magazine? He will check into the cost for renewing the magazine for the next meeting.

                                WEB SITE: All meetings thru Jan are posted on the site.

                                B.A.P.: Scott and Tad won the last quarter prizes.

                                FIELD TRIP:  Keith asked if there was any interest in going to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. Several members said yes so he tabled setting the date until after Christmas.

 

9. New Business: 1. Manufactures donations: Audrey informed us that we now mail to 800 manufactures. Not all of them donate. Should we eliminate some? Solution, Audrey will keep track of who donates and start eliminating those that do not. 2. Roster:  Sharon was approached by a member from the Milwaukee club asking if we would give them our roster so they could send our members auction notices. After discussion we decided to inform them that we will post their auctions on our web site and report them at our meetings but for privacy reasons we will not mail them a roster.

 

10. Open Forum: 1. Bill asked about care and problems with raising Guppies. 2. We discussed if Exotic Cichlids is still in business. No one knows for sure.

 

11. B.A.P. No one brought fish.
