1.      Old Business: A-Shirts-Keith delivered them at the meeting. B. Shop Hop - Bruce and Keith reported on the Shop-Hop. C. Drs. Foster and Smith Frag and Swap – Scott shared on his experience at the event. D. Sign- Sharon took the material to the printer. It will be done by the August meeting. The old sign will be used until the new one has been completed. E. Bags for rebagging fish at the auction – Ron has ordered the bags. F. August meeting/Picnic – We will meet at the northern end of the parking lot at the N.E.W. Zoo at 6:30 p.m. Keith will bring the subs and chips. Tad will bring the soda and flatware. Corie will bring the napkins. Bruce will bring plates. Beth will bring a cake. F. Increased amount for hosting a meeting. Omitted from last month’s minutes is that the increase will start with the October meeting.

2.      Sub-Committees: Auction- October 26^th 2008 is the date for the fall auction. Keith will contact Mike S, Randy L. and Marc S to see if they are available to be auctioneers.

Web-site: nothing new

 Library: Scott brought in all the latest magazines. He e-mail Mike and Robin to purchase the new book titled Culturing Live Food by Michael Hellwig and is still waiting for a response from them.

 B.A.P. : Scott and Tad inquired about their level plaques. Tad also asked about the changes in the classifications on Guppies. Corie will contact Tony for the answers.

 Field Trip: Minnesota Aquarium – Discussed transportation and length of trip. At August will firm up suggestions. Corie will check cost of hotels.

3.      New Business: A. C. Increasing the amount of money for hosting a meeting. Because of the increase of food prices Ron made a motion to increase the amount of money paid for hosting a meeting to $25 from $20. Deb seconded. Passed

4.      Open Forum: A. Keith reported on a String Ray Symposium at the Shed Aquarium. B. Members discussed ways to help eliminate an excess of nitrates. C. Suggestions on cleaning sand when used in the bottom of tanks were given Scott and Tad.

5.      B.A.P. No one brought fish.

6.      Raffle:  won by Dan

7.      Next meeting is at the N.E.W. Zoo. (6:30 p.m.)
